This is a beautiful MODIS image from the NASA TERRA satellite of snow cover over the Pacific Northwest.
You can see the snow shadow in the central Puget Sound butif you look carefully you can see the effect of bands of snow precip. The Kitsap Peninsula missed out too. But some bits of Bainbridge's east coast got some intense snow. And Vashon got a fair amount too.
The intense band of snow across Victoria, Jefferson County coast (Sequim and Port Townsend), the San Juans, northern Whidbey, Camano and the Skagit Delta.
The Frasier River delta and Vancouver, BC stands out as snow free too. The cold air was blowing out of there and snow precipitated out before reaching that area.
